Air defense forces eliminated 63 enemy drones last night, with 46 lost in specific locations.

The Defense Forces shot down 63 drones that the Russian army used to attack Ukraine starting the evening of December 31. Additionally, 46 enemy decoy drones were lost without incident, while two others flew into Russia and Belarus.

This was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

It was noted that from 20:30 on Tuesday, Russian invaders launched 111 drones at Ukraine, including Shahed type, from the directions of Bryansk, Oryol, Primorsk-Akhtarsk, and the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The air assault was countered by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Forces, and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 09:30 on Wednesday, the confirmed downing of 63 strike drones of the Shahed type and other types of UAVs occurred over the regions of Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv.

46 enemy decoy drones were lost without negative consequences thanks to the active countermeasures taken by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As reported by Ukrinform, six people were injured in Kyiv due to the attack by enemy drones.
