Defense forces shot down 63 Russian drones, with an additional 16 lost due to location issues.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Armed Forces Air Force has informed this via Telegram.

Starting from 19:30 on Saturday, March 1, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using 79 strike drones of the Shahed type and various imitation drones from the directions of: Oryol, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The aerial assault was countered by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 08:30 on Sunday, March 2, the confirmed downing of 63 Shahed strike drones and other types of drones occurred in the regions of Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv.

16 enemy imitation drones were locally lost (without negative consequences).

As a result of the enemy attack, Kharkiv, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, and Zaporizhzhia were affected.

As reported by Ukrinform, a Russian drone of the Shahed type hit a residential building in Zaporizhzhia, where several people sought medical attention at the attack site.
