Defense forces shot down 46 enemy drones, with 24 of them lost in specific locations.
As reported by Ukrinform, this information was shared by the press service of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a Telegram post.
“On the night of January 9, 2025 (from 19:30 on January 7), the enemy launched an attack with 70 strike drones of the 'Shahed' type and various types of imitation drones from the directions of Millerovo, Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk — Russia. As of 09:00, the downing of 46 strike drones of the 'Shahed' type and other types of drones has been confirmed in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions,” the statement said.
Additionally, 24 enemy imitation drones were lost in specific locations.
It is noted that due to the crash of the downed strike drones, private houses were damaged in the Kharkiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions.
According to the press service, the air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force, and the defense forces of Ukraine.
As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops in Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to January 9, 2024, amount to approximately 803,100 personnel, including 1,430 individuals over the past day.
