It is noted that the Chancellor of Germany reacted quite calmly to Musk's verbal attacks directed at him and other prominent German politicians. This is evident from an interview published on Saturday, January 4,
"As Social Democrats, we have been accustomed since the last century to wealthy media entrepreneurs who do not value social-democratic policies - and do not keep their opinions to themselves," Scholz stated in an interview with the magazine Stern.
In his view, such statements should be addressed with a "cool" head.
At the same time, the head of government explained that he finds Musk's support for the far-right party "Alternative for Germany" (AfD), which advocates for closer ties with Putin's Russia and seeks to weaken transatlantic relations, significantly more troubling than Musk's verbal provocations.
In an article published at the end of December in the newspaper Welt am Sonntag, Musk openly endorsed the AfD, DW reminds us. He believes that, considering the alleged "economic and cultural collapse" of Germany, this political force is the "last spark of hope for the country," and the portrayal of the party as far-right is "clearly false."
As reported, the German government has noted that Elon Musk's statements on his social media X and in German media can be seen as attempts to influence ahead of the elections in the country.
