The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has detained a deputy of the Poltava Regional Council, who is suspected of ordering the murder of the owner of a local agricultural company in order to take over his business.
In the official statement, the name of the detained individual is not disclosed, but local media insist that it concerns Oleg Dyadik from the "For the Future" party.
This information is reported on the
SBU website.
According to the investigation, the official intended to eliminate the owner of a local agricultural company to further appropriate his business. To carry out the crime, the deputy enlisted his driver as an accomplice. For the physical elimination of the agrarian, he promised his subordinate $20,000.
It has been established that the murder was planned to take place at a local abandoned pumping station. The deputy invited the entrepreneur there under the pretext of discussing work-related issues.
During the meeting, the hitman was supposed to throw a rope around the victim's neck and strangle him, then stage the hanging of his victim. Afterward, the deputy planned to forge documents for the corporate rights of the businessman’s agricultural company to present himself as a trusted person.
To prepare for the crime, the participants met in secret locations without surveillance cameras, communicating exclusively "in person" without any phone communication. The SBU counterintelligence acted preemptively and arrested both criminals "in the act" as they were transporting the businessman to the site of the "business" meeting.
