National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan presented U.S. President Joe Biden with options for potential American strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities if Iran moves towards developing nuclear weapons by January 20.

As reported by Ukrinform, this information comes from Axios, citing three informed sources.

According to the sources, the meeting where this issue was discussed took place a month ago.

The sources emphasize that Biden did not give a "green light" for these strikes during or after the meeting with his advisors.

U.S. officials stated that this meeting was part of a discussion on "scenario planning" regarding how the U.S. should respond if Iran takes steps such as enriching uranium to 90% purity by January 20, when Donald Trump's inauguration will occur.

Another source noted that there are currently no active discussions in the White House regarding possible military actions against Iran's nuclear facilities.

Iran has long denied seeking nuclear weapons and has asserted that its nuclear program is intended solely for peaceful purposes.

However, in recent months, several former and current Iranian officials have publicly discussed the possibility of changing Iran's nuclear doctrine.

As reported by Ukrinform, Israel, in response to Iran's massive ballistic attack at the end of October, destroyed a highly classified nuclear weapons research center in Parchin.
