As reported by Ukrinform, this is indicated by the document card on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, on August 15, the President submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law titled "On Amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes of Ukraine in Connection with the Ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and Amendments to It," which proposes to supplement the articles of the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes of Ukraine related to international crimes in accordance with the provisions of the Rome Statute of the ICC.
On October 9, the parliament adopted the relevant law.
Earlier, on August 21, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and amendments to it.
The ratification of the Rome Statute is a mandatory condition for Ukraine's further European integration. Ukraine signed this treaty on January 20, 2000.
After the ratification of the Rome Statute, the state becomes a participant in the International Criminal Court, and crimes committed by its citizens or on its territory are subject to the court in The Hague.
