The President of Serbia does not rule out parliamentary elections following the Prime Minister's resignation amid ongoing protests.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced the possibility of early parliamentary elections in the country in April, following the resignation of Prime Minister Miloš Vučević amid anti-government protests.

According to Ukrinform, this is reported by Reuters.

“New (parliamentary – ed.) elections may be held in April. There can be no talk of a temporary government,” - said Vucic on Tuesday evening in a televised address.

He added that his party will decide within 10 days whether to form a majority government or to hold early parliamentary elections in the country.

As reported by Ukrinform, Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević announced his resignation amid nationwide protests.

On November 1, part of the roof collapsed at the railway station in the Serbian city of Novi Sad. As a result, 15 people died, and three others sustained serious injuries.

On November 6, unrest erupted in Novi Sad following the tragedy at the railway station.

Later, Serbian law enforcement reported the arrest of 11 individuals due to the unrest during the protest in Novi Sad.

On January 27, students began a 24-hour blockade of a key transportation hub in the capital, Belgrade, increasing pressure on the authorities following the roof collapse at the station in Novi Sad last November.
