In January and February 2025, a rare planetary alignment will occur. Initially, 6 planets, and later 7, will be visible from Earth at the same time.

As reported by Ukrinform, this information comes from LiveScience.

On January 21, inhabitants of Earth will have the opportunity to see six planets in the sky simultaneously – Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Venus, and Saturn.

It is noted that on February 28, seven planets of the Solar System – Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars – will line up in a row. Astronomers refer to this phenomenon as a grand planetary conjunction.

Only Uranus and Neptune will be visible with binoculars; the others can be seen without them.

In fact, it is not uncommon for several planets to be on the same side of the Sun at the same time. However, the more planets involved – starting from three – the rarer the phenomenon is considered. The appearance of seven planets simultaneously is regarded as the rarest of all.

It gives the impression that these planets are aligned in a single line. This occurs because all the planets in the Solar System orbit the Sun along the ecliptic.

Some of the planets have orbits slightly above or below the ecliptic, but they are all relatively on the same level.

Occasionally, planets find themselves on the same side of the Sun, moving along their orbits. As a result, people on Earth can observe them in the sky at the same time.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of Saturday, December 14, Ukrainians were able to witness the peak of the Geminid meteor shower in the sky.
