The Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba, discussed priorities for future work with the ambassadors of the G7 countries and the EU ambassador.

This was reported by the Ministry of Restoration on Facebook, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

“The Vice Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksii Kuleba, met with the ambassadors of the Group of Seven (G7) and the EU ambassador... During the meeting, the parties focused on topics such as decentralization, regional policy, restoration, and further cooperation between the ministry and international partners,” the statement said.

One of the topics of discussion was decentralization, which will be given special attention at the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference URC2025. According to Carlo Formosa, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine, the involvement of the international community in the reconstruction of Ukraine will be discussed in Rome next summer, with an emphasis on maximizing benefits for the regions.

For his part, the Vice Prime Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Restoration is working to analyze the capacity of communities and enhance their involvement in public investment proposals. All projects that are being implemented or will be implemented must occur through the Digital Ecosystem for accountable recovery management, DREAM. He explained to the G7 ambassadors that due to the war, Ukraine has three types of macro-regions: areas where active hostilities are taking place, a center that serves as the main logistics hub, and part of Ukraine where the highest economic activity is expected to occur. Therefore, when planning assistance for these regions, all specific characteristics must be taken into account.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Martin Harris, stated that his country welcomes the fact that the Ministry of Restoration is actively utilizing DREAM. This is a positive signal. He noted that foreign partners currently see all the efforts that Ukraine is making to keep the maritime corridor operational. They also support the desire to open the airspace and are ready to assist Ukraine in this matter.

As reported, the Ukraine Recovery Conference will take place on July 10-11, 2025, in the Italian capital.
