Oleksandr Ovcharenko kicked off his ATP tournament in India with a victory.
Ukraine's top tennis player, Oleksandr Ovcharenko, successfully advanced past the first round of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger tournament in Chennai, India, which features a prize pool of $160,000.

At the start of the competition, Ovcharenko defeated the 8th seed, Jombor Pirosh from Hungary, with a score of 7:6 (7:4), 6:4.
In the match for a place in the quarter-finals, Ovcharenko will face the "neutral" Oleksiy Zakharov.
The tournament in Chennai will continue until February 2.
