"There is also a category of individuals who are pensioners but continue to work. For these pensioners, starting from April, there will be a recalculation of the pension. This will also happen automatically," she explained.
According to her, recalculation means that the pension is calculated as a product of pension rights.
"We will recalculate pensions for working pensioners taking into account the additional pension rights they have accumulated over the last year of work. Therefore, this will also affect the amount of their pensions," Marchak noted.
How much will the increase be?
The pension increase will depend on how many months you have worked and the amount of contributions you have paid.
"Accordingly, if you are paying contributions based on the minimum wage, it is clear that the increase will not be very significant. If these are contributions based on a high salary, then the increase will be correspondingly noticeable," the First Deputy Minister stated.
Pension Indexation in Ukraine
In March 2025, there will be a pension indexation in Ukraine. This year, it will occur as planned, just like every year before.
After the recalculation, payments will increase on average by 11.5%. The projected level of pension growth after indexation will be 556 UAH, and the average pension in Ukraine will rise from 5789 UAH to 6345 UAH.
At the same time, the amount of the increase cannot be less than 100 UAH and cannot exceed 1500 UAH.
