A furniture manufacturer in Transcarpathia aims to hire 160 workers from Bangladesh.

This was reported on Telegram by the head of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration, Myroslav Biletsky, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

“The state enterprise ‘Lamella’ in the Tyachiv urban territorial community specializes in furniture manufacturing. It employs 430 people, and due to an increase in production capacity at the facility, there are 700 job openings. The business has created all necessary conditions, purchased equipment and materials, and is in urgent need of workers. Currently, the enterprise is negotiating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to employ 160 individuals from the People's Republic of Bangladesh under labor contracts,” Biletsky wrote.

According to him, the company has been operating since 2001 and during this time has grown from a small workshop producing furniture components into a large manufacturer whose products are exported to European countries.

As reported by Ukrinform, in Ukraine, the working-age population decreased by 40% in 2024 compared to 2021 due to demographic processes.
