This was reported by the Poltava region police communication department, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
“On January 3, the Poltava district police department received a report from citizens about the discovery of suspicious items in the forest strip between the villages of Korzhі and Hlyboka Balka,” the statement reads.
It is noted that the investigative-operational group of the police and explosives experts retrieved a total of 9 boxes of ammunition and 25 parts of rifles with signs of corrosion from the forest strip.
Currently, the issue of disposing of the discovered remnants of weapons and ammunition is being addressed, the police added.
As Ukrinform reported, 58 hand grenades of various types, mines, a handheld anti-tank grenade launcher, and over 1600 rounds of ammunition of various calibers were found in the forest strip in Poltava region.
