The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, releasing operational information as of 08:00 on Saturday, January 4, as reported by Ukrinform.
According to updated information, Russian troops launched four missile strikes and 64 air strikes against the positions of the Defense Forces and populated areas in Ukraine yesterday, employing 11 missiles and 95 guided aerial bombs.
The invaders also utilized 2,257 kamikaze drones and carried out nearly five thousand shelling incidents, 230 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
From the air, Russian forces targeted areas including Hremiachka, Khotiivka, Semenivka, Popivka, Oleksandrivka, Zhuravka, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk, Zelenyi Pol, Hrodivka, Myrnohrad, Kotlyne, Pokrovsk, Novoandriivka, Novopillia, Kostiantynivka, Vilyke Pole, Piatykhatky, Shcherbaky, Lobkove, Novodanylivka, and Stepnohirska.
Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces struck four areas of concentration of personnel and equipment of the Russian army, a command and observation point, and an enemy air defense system yesterday.
In the Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks by Russian troops in the vicinity of Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, the Russians launched seven attacks over the day. The Defense Forces repelled the enemy's assault actions near Kucheriivka, Synkivka, and Zahryzove.
In the Lyman direction, the invaders attacked 11 times, attempting to advance near Nadiya, Makiyivka, Hryhorivka, Tverdokhlibove, Yamplivka, towards Cherneshchyna and Zelenyi Dol.
In the Seversk direction, the Russian army attacked the positions of the Defense Forces twice in the area of Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, 10 combat engagements were recorded in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, as well as towards Predtechyne and Stupochky.
In the Toretsk direction, Russian troops attacked seven times near Diliivka, Toretsk, and Shcherbynivka.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders halted 40 enemy assault and offensive actions in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Baranivka, Myroliubivka, Promin, Novooleivka, Novovasyliivka, Ukrainka, Lysivka, Zelenyi, Novyi Trud, Pishchane, Zvirivka, Solone, Kotlyne, and Pokrovsk.
In the Kurakhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 11 attacks near Petropavlivka, Sribne, Kurakhove, and Shevchenko.
In the Vremivka direction, the Russian army conducted 11 offensive actions against Ukrainian positions in the areas near Yantarnyi, towards Kostiantynivka and Novosilka.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Defense Forces repelled an enemy attack near Novoandriivka. In this section of the front, the invaders' aviation was actively engaged.
In the Dnipro direction, Russian troops unsuccessfully stormed Ukrainian positions twice.
In the Huliaipole direction, the Russians did not conduct any assault actions yesterday.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of enemy offensive group formations were detected.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army actively shelled Ukrainian populated areas from its territory using artillery and aviation.
In the operational zone of the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders repelled 41 attacks by the Russian army yesterday. The Russian troops struck there using three missiles and 15 guided aerial bombs, as well as 357 artillery shellings.
