In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy unsuccessfully attempted to advance four times in the area of Vovchansk and Tykhyi.
In the Kupiansk direction, there were three attacks by Russian invaders over the past day. The Defense Forces repelled the enemy's assault actions near the populated points of Topoli, Holubivka, and Petropavlivka.
In the Lyman direction, the Russian army attacked 14 times, trying to advance near Novosergiyivka, Nadiya, Pershotravneve, Chorneshchyna, Makiivka, Zarichne, Terniv, and Ivanivka.
In the Siversk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled seven enemy attacks in the area of the populated point Bilohorivka.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Russians carried out seven attacks on the positions of the Defense Forces near the populated points of Vasyukivka, Bondarne, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk direction, yesterday, in some cases with air support, the enemy attacked the populated point Toretsk nine times.
In the Pokrovsk direction, during the day, Ukrainian defenders stopped 41 assaults by the Russian army in the areas of Tarasivka, Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Sukhy Yar, Zelenyi, Novyi Trud, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Novovasylivka, and Nadiivka.
In the Kurakhiv direction, the Defense Forces repelled 25 attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Sribne, Slovyanka, Petropavlivka, Andriivka, Kurakhove, and Dachne over the past day.
In the Vremivka direction, the enemy conducted 21 assaults on the positions of the Defense Forces in the areas of the populated points Yantarne, Kostiantynivske, Uspenivka, Kostiantynivka, Novosilka, and Pryvilne. Additionally, the Russians actively employed assault and bomber aviation against populated areas and the positions of Ukrainian troops.
In the Dnipro direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled two enemy assaults.
In the Orikhiv and Huliaipole directions, the Russian army did not conduct active operations.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the enemy forming offensive groups were detected.
“Operations are ongoing in the Kursk region, with 32 clashes reported yesterday, and enemy artillery carried out 146 shellings on populated areas and our troops' positions, including six from multiple launch rocket systems,” the General Staff added.
As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian troops in Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to January 8, 2024, amount to approximately 801,670 personnel, including 1,660 personnel - over the past day.
