In the Cherkasy district of Cherkasy region, air defense forces shot down five Russian drones on the night of January 9. Debris damaged 11 buildings and a vehicle.
This was reported by the head of the regional state administration, Ihor Taburets, on Facebook, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
"Once again, it's a troubling night in Cherkasy. Due to enemy drones in our sky. Preliminary data indicates that 5 Russian UAVs have been destroyed within the region," Taburets noted.
According to him, there are no casualties.
In the Cherkasy district, windows of 10 residential buildings, a store, and a vehicle were damaged by debris.
The area is still being surveyed, Taburets informed.
As Ukrinform reported, on the night of January 9, Russian forces launched strike drones from various directions, and an air alert was declared in several regions.
