The Russian troops have not reached the borders of the city of Pokrovsk, but they are attempting to encircle it through neighboring settlements.

This was reported during a television broadcast by the spokesperson for the operational-strategic group of troops "Khortytsia," Viktor Trehubov, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

“On the Pokrovsk front, our defenders halted 38 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor yesterday. This is the hottest of all our fronts, and it has remained so for the past few weeks. Neighboring fronts, such as Kurakhiv and Vremiv, are also very active. There are no urban battles in the city (Pokrovsk — ed.). The Russians have not reached the city limits, but they are trying to encircle it through nearby settlements and villages, infiltrating with various groups, accumulating (forces — ed.) and continuing to strike in a way that would bypass the city. There is also active UAV activity, with all that the Russians currently have focused in the area of Pokrovsk,” he said.

In response to a question about the enemy's desire to encircle Pokrovsk from the south, Trehubov noted that the city is large and fortified, so Russian troops are not launching a frontal assault. At the same time, the enemy is bogged down in urban battles on several other fronts, particularly in Chasiv Yar and Kurakhove.

“The enemy is currently not counting on fighting in Pokrovsk, but is trying to bypass the city and sever infrastructure chains,” he added.

As reported by Ukrinform, there were 140 clashes on the front yesterday.
