The Ministry of Defense has launched its own production of FPV drones.

According to Ukrinform, this was announced by the press service of the defense ministry.

“Thanks to the integration of the state into production chains, we have gained a clear understanding of the production costs of drones and our competitive advantages in this market. This will enhance the quality of finished products through sustained competition,” commented the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk.

It is noted that within the framework of a pilot project that began in December last year under the overall coordination of the Main Department of Defense Innovations of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the state has gained the capability to produce codified FPV drones.

In particular, as part of a trilateral agreement, a private developer granted a license for the production of UAVs based on one of the state enterprises under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense.

Additionally, specialists from the Main Department of Defense Innovations of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine have developed a roadmap for organizing similar productions in collaboration with other developers of unmanned aerial complexes (UAC).

“We are ready to expand cooperation with private companies. We have a package of template documents and a step-by-step guide for launching similar production lines for UACs at other state enterprises,” reported Yuriy Taranyuk, Head of the Main Department of Defense Innovations.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian-produced drones covered 96.2% of the needs of the Defense Forces in 2024.
