From January 1, 2025, the minimum wage in Poland increased by 366 zlotys, reaching 4,666 zlotys or $1,132 per month gross (before taxes), according to TSN. This information is reported by Kontrakty.UA.
The minimum hourly wage has also risen: from 28 zlotys and 10 groszy to 30 zlotys and 50 groszy per hour, reports "Polish Radio".
In comparison, the minimum wage in Ukraine is 8,000 hryvnias per month or $190 at the current NBU exchange rate (after paying 18% income tax and 5% military tax, an employee receives "in hand" 6,160 UAH). Therefore, the minimum wage in Poland exceeds the Ukrainian wage sixfold.
Overall, over the past two years, the minimum wage in Poland has doubled. As of January 1, 2024, it was 4,242 zlotys, and from July 1, it was 4,300 zlotys. In 2023, it was 3,490 zlotys from January 1 and 3,600 zlotys from July 1.
As reported, starting in March, the minimum pension in Poland will increase from the current 1,780.96 zlotys gross per month (1,620.67 zlotys net, which is the amount received by pensioners) to 1,884.61 zlotys gross (1,715 zlotys net).
Converted at the current exchange rate, a Polish pensioner will receive a minimum pension equivalent to 17,551 UAH. In Ukraine, the minimum pension amounts to 3,370 UAH per month for individuals with sufficient years of service and 2,725 UAH for those with insufficient service.
It is worth noting that in Ukraine, the average pension as of July 1, 2024, according to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, is 5,816 UAH (140 euros).
