The American corporation Microsoft plans to invest $80 billion in the financial year 2025 to build data centers that support artificial intelligence.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by CNBC.

The company also stated that more than half of this amount will be spent within the United States.

It is noted that Microsoft’s financial year 2025 ends in June.

“Today, the United States leads the global race in artificial intelligence due to private capital investments and innovations from American companies of all sizes, from dynamic startups to well-established enterprises. At Microsoft, we have seen this firsthand through our partnership with OpenAI, as well as our own AI-supported software platforms and applications,” said Microsoft President Brad Smith.

By investing over $13 billion in OpenAI, Microsoft provides the startup with cloud infrastructure and integrates its AI models into Windows, Teams, and other products.

Microsoft's revenues from Azure and other cloud services grew by 33% in the first financial quarter, with 12% attributed to artificial intelligence services.

As reported by Ukrinform, the company Microsoft stated that the Russian hacker group Midnight Blizzard, linked to the Russian foreign intelligence service, is involved in phishing attacks against thousands of representatives of American government and defense structures.
