This opinion was expressed by Andriy Kovalенко, head of the Center for Peace and Democracy, as reported by Ukrinform citing CPD.
“For North Korea, assisting Russia with military support, aside from earning money, also serves as a 'test run' for its soldiers in modern warfare conditions, preparing them for future confrontations with South Korea. Participation in battles there will be the first stage of this testing,” Kovalенко noted.
He also pointed out that North Korean troops in the border regions of Russia near Ukraine may be utilized "for warfare and the construction of fortifications, thereby relieving the burden on Russian infantry."
As reported, according to the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, North Korean soldiers may soon be deployed to the Kursk region.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine has information about the preparation of two brigades of North Korean military, each consisting of 6,000 soldiers.
