According to Ukrinform, this was reported by CNBC.
Joel Kaplan will replace former British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, who held the position since 2018.
“I am pleased that Joel is taking on this role, given his extensive experience and understanding of the work,” said the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
It is noted that Kaplan served as Deputy Chief of Staff in the White House under former President George Bush.
Last month, he appeared on the New York Stock Exchange alongside President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President Jay D. Vance.
The company's decision to change the head of international affairs came about three weeks before Trump's inauguration.
The agency Reuters adds that Kaplan has been with Meta since 2011.
As reported by Ukrinform, Meta Platforms, which owns Facebook and Instagram, donated 1 million dollars to the inaugural fund of newly elected President Donald Trump.
