This was reported in Telegram by former advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
“The Russians have begun building a massive monument in the Primorsky district of Mariupol, right in the park, to commemorate the fallen occupiers. An anchor that will be visible to the entire city. However, the residents of Mariupol are genuinely outraged in the chats,” Andriushchenko wrote.
According to him, the locals are upset by the Russians' plans because there is still no mention of the civilian casualties in Mariupol.
“The Russians avoid even mentioning the victims. The terrible price of the occupation. Therefore, they impose their own ‘heroes’ everywhere to divert attention,” he noted.
Andriushchenko added that despite losing control, Mariupol remains part of Ukraine, and the residents will not remain silent.
As reported, in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, Russian invaders have begun to erect a memorial for the "liberators of Donbas."
