The Canadian province of Ontario has postponed its decision to terminate the contract with Starlink.

Canada's most populous province, Ontario, has postponed its decision to terminate the contract with Elon Musk's Starlink following U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to delay a range of tariffs on goods imported from Canada for 30 days.
Канадская провинция Онтарио отложила решение о разрыве контракта со Starlink.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced this on X social media, as reported by Ukrinform.

“As the U.S. suspends tariffs, Ontario will also pause our countermeasures. If President Trump continues to impose tariffs, we will not hesitate to remove American products from our shelves or prohibit American companies from participating in provincial tenders,” Ford stated.

According to him, regardless of whether this happens tomorrow, in a month, or in a year, President Trump will keep using the threat of tariffs to get what he wants.

Reuters notes that the contract for Starlink is valued at 100 million Canadian dollars (68 million USD).

Earlier, Ontario announced that they are terminating the contract with Elon Musk's Starlink amid the trade measures being taken by the new U.S. administration against Canada.

As Ukrinform reported, the U.S. announced high import tariffs on goods from Canada, Mexico, and China starting Tuesday.

Yesterday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that Donald Trump agreed to postpone the imposition of tariffs on all Canadian imports for at least a month.
