According to a correspondent from Ukrinform, this was announced by the Office of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau following his visit to Ukraine.
“To maintain pressure on Russia, Prime Minister Trudeau announced the implementation of sanctions against 76 individuals and entities that support the Kremlin's military-industrial complex, participate in illegal deportations and forced relocations of Ukrainian children, or facilitate Kremlin's information operations. Sanctions have also been imposed against high-ranking officials in the Russian government and oligarchs who support Putin's regime,” stated Trudeau's office.
It is noted that Canada is also “taking measures against Russia's shadow fleet by imposing sanctions on 109 vessels.” “In total, Canadian sanctions target over 3,000 individuals and entities involved in violating Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as gross and systematic human rights violations,” concluded Trudeau's office.
As reported by Ukrinform, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Kyiv on February 24 to commemorate the third anniversary of the start of Russia's full-scale invasion. During the visit, Trudeau announced the provision of infantry fighting vehicles, landing systems, and aviation training simulators for F-16s, as well as the first tranche of aid funded by frozen Russian assets.
