Nearly $2.5 billion equivalent has been transferred to Ukraine through money transfer payment systems (created by both residents and non-residents). This is a 4.6% decrease compared to 2023.
The average amount of a single cross-border transfer to Ukraine last year was $267 (compared to $256 in 2023).
The largest volumes of funds sent to Ukraine through payment systems last year came from the USA (19.39%), Israel (16.8%), Germany (10.8%), Italy (10.21%), and the United Kingdom (9.41%).
The leaders in terms of transfer amounts to Ukraine were three payment systems: Western Union – 37.58% of all transfers, MoneyGram – 19.20%, RIA – 18.33%.
The National Bank notes that humanitarian aid from several international organizations was received by Ukrainians through payment system channels in 2024.
Traditionally, in previous years before the full-scale invasion, about a quarter of all private money transfers to Ukraine came through payment systems. This trend has continued in 2024.
