This was reported on Facebook by the Center for Public Health (CPH), as conveyed by Ukrinform.
"During the week of the epidemic season from January 27 to February 2, 2025, there were 150,864 cases of ARVI, including 91,152 children. Compared to the previous week, the number of ARVI cases increased by 24.6%, with the number of infected children rising by 34.6%," the message states.
According to CPH, the incidence rate of ARVI, including COVID-19, stands at 418.7 per 100,000 population, which is 13.3% below the epidemic threshold calculated for Ukraine, and 24.6% higher than the corresponding figure from the previous week.
Last week, there were 507 confirmed cases of COVID-19. Among those who tested positive for COVID-19, four fatalities were recorded. The deceased had not received preventive vaccinations against COVID-19 in the past 12 months.
In 281 cases, laboratory tests of samples from 822 patients identified influenza viruses of untyped A, A(H1)pdm09, A(H3), and B.
During the same period, 1,313 people received preventive vaccinations against influenza, including 657 individuals from medical and epidemiological risk groups.
As reported, since the beginning of the epidemic season, from September 30, 2024, to February 2, 2025, a total of 2,091,692 individuals (5.8% of the country's population) have contracted respiratory infectious diseases, which is 22.5% less than in the same period of the 2023-2024 season.
