Last year, the "Own Business" grant recipients received ₴2.6 billion to support their business development.

An additional 93 Ukrainians have emerged as winners of the "Own Business" program following the results of the twenty-sixth and final wave in 2024. They will receive grants totaling 23 million UAH to start or expand their businesses.

This was reported by Deputy Minister of Economy Tetiana Berezhna, as conveyed by Ukrinform with reference to the press service of the ministry.

“11,000 Ukrainians have become winners of the ‘Own Business’ program in 2024 and will receive grants to start or develop their businesses totaling 2.6 billion UAH. Last year, there were 1,500 more grant recipients than in 2023... This year, the government has allocated over 3 billion UAH for the implementation of this program, and about 15,000 Ukrainians will be able to receive grants,” noted Berezhna.

Among the recipients of micro-grants in 2024, 62% are women and 38% are men. The highest number of grant recipients comes from Lviv (1,200), Kyiv (761), Ivano-Frankivsk (748), Rivne (709), Vinnytsia (613) regions, and the city of Kyiv (871). The vast majority of grant recipients plan to use the funds to purchase equipment necessary for running their businesses.

The most popular sectors where grant recipients of 2024 will operate include: wholesale and retail trade, vehicle repair; temporary accommodation and food organization; manufacturing industry; healthcare and social assistance.

As reported, under the ‘Own Business’ program, Ukrainians can receive a micro-grant ranging from 50,000 to 250,000 UAH. To obtain a grant exceeding 75,000 UAH, it is mandatory to create 1-2 jobs depending on the grant amount. Ukrainians aged up to 25 can receive a grant of up to 150,000 UAH with the obligation to register as an individual entrepreneur, while the requirement to create jobs is not mandatory for them. Entrepreneurs in Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region can receive a grant of up to 300,000 UAH (provided they create 1 job) and up to 500,000 UAH (for creating 2 jobs).
