In January-September 2024, Ukraine exported 48.9 million tons of agricultural products, marking a 25.4% increase compared to the same period last year.

This was reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

“During the first nine months of 2024, the volumes of Ukraine's agricultural product exports rose by over a quarter, specifically by 9.9 million tons. Their value increased by $1.4 billion.

Overall, in the first three quarters of 2024, Ukraine exported 48.9 million tons of agricultural products worth $10.5 billion,” the statement said.

It is noted that the primary reason for this growth was the recovery of maritime exports, which accounted for 89% of the total volume.

Cereals dominate the export structure, with 42.3 million tons valued at $7.1 billion. A significant portion is also attributed to the export of oilseed seeds and fruits, totaling 5 million tons worth $2.2 billion.

Meanwhile, agricultural product imports to Ukraine amounted to 978.8 thousand tons worth $1.7 billion. Nearly half of the imports consist of edible fruits and nuts - 468 thousand tons valued at $563.8 million. Vegetable imports are also substantial, totaling 194.2 thousand tons worth $246.6 million, while oilseed seeds account for $346.5 million (50.2 thousand tons) in value. Unlike exports, 80% of imported products are delivered by road transport.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukrainian exporters increased their physical sales volumes by 36.2% to 99.3 million tons in January-September 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

During January-September 2024, goods worth $51.2 billion were imported into Ukraine, while exports totaled $30.7 billion.
