Drones targeted an oil refinery in the Volgograd region, according to media reports.

A group of drones launched an attack on an oil refinery in the Volgograd region on the night of Friday, January 31.
Дроны атаковали НПЗ в Волгоградской области, сообщают СМИ.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was communicated by the Russian service of BBC.

“As a result of debris from one of the UAVs falling on the territory of a refinery, a fire broke out, which was promptly extinguished. One injured factory worker has been hospitalized,” local press quotes the region's governor Andrei Bocharov.

Information that Ukrainian drones attacked the LUKOIL Volgogradneftepererabotka refinery came from various sources throughout the night. Local residents reported several explosions in this area of Volgograd.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense of Russia reported in its morning briefing that during the night, 49 Ukrainian drones were shot down over 7 Russian regions.

However, the ministry's counts and those of local authorities once again do not match.

According to the ministry's statement, 25 drones were shot down over the Rostov region, eight over Volgograd, six over Kursk, four over the territory of Yaroslavl region, and two each over Belgorod and Voronezh regions and the Krasnodar Territory.

The operational headquarters of the Kursk region almost simultaneously with the ministry's report stated that they shot down 17 drones over their region (not six, as claimed by the ministry).

The governor of Yaroslavl region also almost simultaneously reported that five drones were shot down near Yaroslavl, not four as stated in the ministry's report.
