In 2024, the economic index remains negative. However, it has slightly increased compared to 2023 due to an improvement in the assessment of Ukrainian incomes and the ease of finding employment. Conversely, the overall index of local well-being has decreased from 0.08 to -0.01 on a scale from -3 to +3 compared to 2023. A downward trend is observed in most regions of Ukraine. Writes TSN. This information is reported by Kontrakty.UA.
This is mentioned in the report by the analytical center Rating Lab, which presented a new study on the incomes of Ukrainians.
Where to Do Business in Ukraine
Meanwhile, according to the study, the ease of doing business has not changed.
"Kyiv remains the only region with a positive value for the economic opportunities indicator (0.4). In the other 22 regions, the values are negative (-0.5 and below)," the experts believe.
Overall, the regions with relatively better evaluations include:
- Odesa (-0.6)
- Kyiv (-0.6)
- Rivne (-0.6)
- Kharkiv (-0.6)
- Lviv (-0.6)
- Kharkiv (-0.7)
On the other hand, the worst indicators are observed in Kherson, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Chernihiv, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Ternopil, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, and Chernivtsi regions.
Experts also note that residents of regional centers rate the economic situation in their locality better than others.
Among age categories, evaluations have not changed significantly: only among the youth aged 16-34 years did analysts record a noticeable positive change of 0.2 points.
"There is also a linear relationship between income and the assessment of the economic state of one's city/village: the higher the income, the higher the assessment," the study states.
It should be noted that the sample was taken from 9,681 respondents (or at least 354 respondents per region, based on the respondents' place of residence at the time of the survey).
It has also been revealed that the most consideration for moving abroad is among residents of Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi regions, and Kyiv.
