“Their position in Kursk is significant because it will undoubtedly influence any negotiations that may take place next year,” Blinken told reporters in Seoul.
He noted that the administration of current U.S. President Joe Biden aims to ensure that “Ukraine has the strongest possible hand to play.”
The Secretary of State emphasized that even if negotiations occur, Ukraine will still require “adequate security guarantees,” as Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin will not consider the “game over.”
“His imperial ambitions remain, and what he will try to do is rest, rearm, and ultimately attack again,” Blinken stressed.
At the same time, he did not directly comment on the operations of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region.
