This was announced by Lviv's mayor, Andriy Sadovyi, on Facebook, as reported by Ukrinform.
"The Sixth Appellate Court of Kyiv has canceled the historical and architectural support plan for the city of Lviv. The session was held in a closed written proceeding. Neither the Ministry of Culture nor the Lviv City Council had the opportunity to publicly defend their position," the statement reads.
Sadovyi noted that a cassation appeal will be prepared to preserve Lviv's historical heritage.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy announced its intention to appeal the decision of the Kyiv District Administrative Court, which deemed the ministry's order approving the boundaries of Lviv's historical area unlawful.
The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy considers this court ruling to be illegal and not in the state's interest. The session took place without the participation of the parties involved. The court did not take into account the arguments from the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, which confirmed the legality of the order. Additionally, the court denied the Lviv City Council's request to participate in the case alongside the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.
