According to the announcement, the Ukrainian association in Colombia, "Prosvita" (Prosvita Comunidad Ucraniana en Colombia), is a socio-cultural organization established in 2023 to preserve Ukrainian identity and culture abroad.
The association focuses on fostering connections between Ukrainians and Colombian citizens, promoting friendly relations between the two countries, and actively supports the organization of socio-cultural, informational, charitable, and educational activities.
The organization also conducts protests outside the Russian embassy, peaceful demonstrations aimed at raising awareness about the war in Ukraine, informing the Colombian audience about the conflict in Ukraine in Spanish, and promoting Ukrainian culture through exhibitions, film screenings, and lectures.
“We are pleased to welcome this new supporting organization and wish them success in their future fruitful endeavors!” the UWC added.
Additionally, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) congratulated the Ukrainian community in the German state of Thuringia (Ukrainische Landsleute in Thueringen e.V.) on its 10th anniversary and awarded it a certificate in honor of the jubilee.
