Ukrainian producers are lowering prices on greenhouse cucumbers.

In Ukraine, greenhouse farms are offering cucumbers at a price range of 80-120 UAH per kilogram, which is approximately 11% lower on average compared to the end of last week.
Украинские производители снижают цены на тепличные огурцы.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by EastFruit.

"As a result of these price adjustments, cucumber sales are currently taking place within the range of 80-120 UAH/kg ($1.93-2.89/kg), which is on average 11% cheaper than at the end of last working week," the message states.

It is noted that today Ukrainian greenhouse farms are forced to offer cucumbers at an average of 20% cheaper than at the end of February 2024.

Market operators attribute this situation to an increase in the supply of vegetables from local farms. According to monitoring data, almost all stationary greenhouse farms in Ukraine have started to sell this product.

Moreover, there is a noticeable decline in demand for greenhouse cucumbers in Ukraine. Specifically, wholesale companies and supermarket chains have reduced their purchase volumes of local products, citing low retail sales rates.

The majority of key market players do not rule out further price reductions in this segment, as the supply of local cucumbers is increasing while sales rates remain low.

As reported, last week in Ukraine, due to increased demand, the wholesale prices for carrots rose by an average of 10% and now range from 27-34 UAH/kg.
