At the same time, sales in China declined by 6.9% to 1.78 million vehicles amid fierce price competition.
Sales of hybrid vehicles surged by 21.1% to 4.14 million vehicles due to rising demand in key markets such as North America and Europe, against a backdrop of cooling interest in electric vehicles worldwide.
The company’s electric vehicle sales increased by 34.5% to 139,892 units.
As Ukrinform reported, in December of last year, the Japanese automotive giant Toyota stated that its global production has been declining for the 10th consecutive month, while its sales have been rising for the second month.
