At the Women's Tennis Association (WTA 1000) tournament in Indian Wells, USA, featuring a prize pool of $8.963 million, the qualifying matches for entry into the main draw of the competition are currently underway.

Both Ukrainian players - Yulia Starodubtseva (No. 109 in the WTA rankings) and Daria Snihur (No. 127) were unable to advance past the opening round of qualification, reports Ukrinform.
Starodubtseva lost in the first round to American Claire Liu (No. 276) with a score of 5:7, 6:7 (2:7), while Snihur was defeated by Japanese player Aoi Ito (No. 110) with scores of 6:4, 1:6, 4:6.
The tournament in Indian Wells will take place from March 5 to March 16.
