Instagram has announced an update to the "Requests" folder in messages, aimed at enhancing usability for those who receive a high volume of messages, particularly content creators and influencers.

This was reported by The Tech Crunch, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

The app will now implement tools that allow users to sort and filter their "message requests" — meaning those messages that do not go to the main "Inbox" folder.

The new tools will enable users to sort and filter these requests based on the number of followers, verified accounts, brands, authors, and other factors. This will assist creators in better identifying priority messages that could be beneficial for their work and business.

Additionally, a new "Story Replies" folder will be introduced, which will gather replies by topics.

The "Sort and Filter" options will appear at the top of the "Inbox" folder, where users can sort requests by recency or by the number of followers the sender has. This will help highlight, for example, messages from brands reaching out with business proposals.

Users can also toggle other options on and off, such as verified accounts, business, creator accounts, accounts with a specific number of followers, and more.

These changes follow other enhancements related to incoming messages that Meta has implemented this week in WhatsApp, which now allows users to filter chats by custom lists.

As reported by Ukrinform, Apple introduced an updated operating system, iOS 18.1, for iPhone on Monday.
