Defense forces shot down 37 Russian drones last night, while another 39 were lost in specific locations.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported this in a Telegram post, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

It is noted that from 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 29, the Russian army launched 81 strike drones of the Shahed type and various types of imitation drones from the directions of the cities of Kursk, Orel, Milleryovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The enemy attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 9:00 AM on Thursday, the downing of 37 strike UAVs of the Shahed type and other types of drones has been confirmed in the Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, and Odesa regions.

As a result of the enemy attack, the Chernihiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Poltava regions were affected. Industrial enterprises, private and multi-apartment buildings, as well as vehicles were damaged.

39 enemy imitation drones were lost locally without negative consequences.

As reported by Ukrinform, during the night of January 30, a Russian strike drone hit a residential high-rise building in Sumy. As of now, there are reports of four fatalities and nine injuries. Rescue operations are ongoing.
