On the night of December 6, 2024 (from 8:00 PM on December 5), the enemy launched an attack on Ukraine using 53 strike drones of the "Shahed" type and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles (launch area: Orel – RF). 
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a Telegram post.
As of 07:00, units of the anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine have shot down 32 enemy drones in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, and Zhytomyr regions.
16 drones were lost in specific locations, and 2 exited the controlled airspace towards Belarus.
It was reported that Russian troops launched several groups of strike drones from the northern direction in the evening.
