В память старшего сержанта Олега Кавецького (позывной «Феликс»)
He never got to see his little daughter – she was born after his death.

Oleh Kavecky is from Chervonohrad in Lviv Oblast. He was born on August 2, 1991. After graduating from school and a mining college, he immediately signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine in October 2010 and served until 2013 in the 8th Separate Special Purpose Regiment.

He was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity. When Russian aggression began in 2014, Oleh joined the ranks of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps of the "Right Sector." From 2016 to 2020, he served under contract in the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade and the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss," fighting at the Svetlodarsk Bulge and in many hot spots in Luhansk and Donetsk regions.

After the full-scale invasion by the RF, Oleh, as a senior sergeant in reserve, was appointed commander of the reconnaissance platoon of one of the military units. He fought in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Donetsk regions.

"He was one of the best people I knew – sincere, honest, kind, responsible… In 2021, Oleh moved to Dnipro and we worked together. His life was getting better until the full-scale invasion by the RF occurred. Without hesitation, 'Felix' went to defend Ukraine with a weapon in hand and fought almost the entire time in Zaporizhzhia, near Huliaipole, where he lost his life in battle... Eternal memory to you, Brother… It will be hard for us to come to terms with your loss…," wrote Oleh's comrade Artem after his death.

Oleh Kavecky was killed on October 3, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Myrne in Zaporizhzhia. Five days before his death, he learned he was going to be a father.

"You were my friend, my man, my support, my love of a lifetime, and you will remain so forever. You are my strength, my world, and my power – these are the words you always said to me. Now you are my strength, you and our child whom I carry under my heart, part of you is my happiness," wrote his beloved girlfriend Diana. Their daughter Solomiia, who was born in June 2023, will unfortunately never know her father...

"We have lost our friend and brother Felix. One of those who first went to defend our State. From the Maidan to today. You could always rely on him in any situation; for many, he became not just a friend but a brother…," wrote his friend Oleksiy Kolesnikov.

Oleh Kavecky was posthumously awarded the Order of "For Courage" III degree, the medal "For Exemplary Military Service," and the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Chervonohrad City Territorial Community" (posthumously).

The hero is survived by his mother, younger brother, grandmother, and wife with two daughters.

Honor and glory to the Defender!
