As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced by the Security Service of Ukraine.
The convicted individual is a 43-year-old displaced person. After the onset of the full-scale war, she moved from the Donetsk region to Kyiv and later rented an apartment in Zhytomyr.
The woman sought ways to connect with the Russian military intelligence (GRU) through social networks of the aggressor country. There, she left messages offering her services as an informant.
The perpetrator also utilized her personal page on the banned platform "Odnoklassniki" to glorify the militants of the Russian private military company "Wagner" and justified their crimes.
After being remotely recruited, the individual received an operational pseudonym and instructions for further actions in the region. She attempted to learn the locations of repair bases for heavy weaponry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The gathered information was transmitted by the agent to her Russian handler via anonymous chats in a messenger and also through email.
The enemy accomplice was apprehended in August of last year while preparing to flee to Russia. It turned out that the GRU planned to "evacuate" her through third countries.
Based on the evidence collected by the SBU, the court found the detained individual guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 2 of Article 111 (treason committed under martial law); Part 2 of Article 436-2 (justification, recognition of the legitimacy, denial of the armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
As reported by Ukrinform, a resident of the Donetsk region was sentenced to ten years in prison for directing Russian missiles at the combat positions of the Defense Forces in the Sloviansk direction.
