This was reported during a broadcast by the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko, as conveyed by Ukrinform.
“We continue to observe the highest number of such incidents (of sabotage and reconnaissance groups - ed.) along the border with the Russian Federation, particularly in the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. However, we also note a certain decrease in hostile reconnaissance and sabotage activities when comparing 2023 and the beginning of 2024. At the same time, the enemy has not abandoned its sabotage operations. The majority of such incidents continue to be recorded in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions,” he stated.
Demchenko added that the enemy's sabotage and reconnaissance groups aim to uncover the locations of Ukrainian military units, lay mines in the area, and target specific objects.
Meanwhile, units of the DPSU and the National Guard are utilizing drones to detect attempts by Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups to infiltrate.
As reported by Ukrinform, in the Sumy region, border guards captured a Russian soldier with the assistance of a drone.
